Join us at River Birch, an Avondale, LA headquartered landfill operation for a tour of their methane gasification process. The facility gasifies methane for internal power consumption with links to the local power grid. River Birch collects and treats landfill gases in their gas purification plant. The high-BTU landfill gas is processed, compressed and fed to a natural gas pipeline for future energy use. This reclaiming of this recycled gas is equivalent to producing over 20,000 gallons of diesel fuel per day.
